Purpose of Role:

This Regional Project Engineering Role will be a part of the MWC Americas Major Projects Team. The individual in this role will be responsible for all aspects of planning and executing projects from ideation to project closure. The scope of the role could include leading projects in the areas of buildings and infrastructure, process, general manufacturing processes, and packaging systems depending on business needs. The role owns the overall leadership of major capital projects via the MWC Engineering Execution Standard. This role will be based out of, or require significant travel to, all of our major sites across North America (Hackettstown, Elizabethtown, Chicago, Cleveland, Waco, etc.)

The engineering knowledge required to execute projects
Engineering and design decisions to deliver reliable and safe mechanical and electrical systems

Principal Accountabilities:

Associate
Develop industry and product specific relevant technical skills

Provide innovative Engineering solutions that drive a competitive advantage

Business
Ensure delivery of assigned objectives for scope, time, budget, and cash flow
Maintain the project adherence to scope, deliverables, and critical success factors
Communicate with the project steering team to ensure project objectives are achieved
Seek and apply appropriate technology to gain and a sustain technical competitive advantage
Support initiatives that shorten new product and project cycle times
Seek and support lean ways of working and apply lean principles in the engineering process and as a project deliverable
Understand and make decisions to improve business measurements such as Return on Total Asset earnings (ROTA), Fixed Asset Turnover Ratio (FATR), etc.

Functional
Continuously improve technical knowledge
Depending on project parameters personally design systems and select hardware, or direct third-party engineering firms providing design services to meet their contract deliverables
Continuously improve personal efficiency and performance to provide value added engineering
Key member and contributor of the Commissioning, Validation, and Start Up (CVS) Team
Actively participate in the development of engineering standards and tools
Support safety, security and environmental policies
Contribute innovative ideas to provide competitive advantage
Identify, protect and expand intellectual property of corporation
Maximize asset utilization through value added engineering and lean design

Leadership
Support project objectives and challenge activities not aligned with those objectives
Directly manage all assigned project work
Understand and support the Five Principles, Vision to Win, and the Winning Environment
Effectively monitor and improve a safe work environment
Ensure delivery of quality work
Actively plan and participate in project activities

Minimum Requirements:
5 years of experience in a comparable technical engineering position – food, beverage, pharmaceutical or related industry prefered.
Understanding of engineering principles – knowledge of engineering disciplines: process, packaging, electrical, construction, and/or computer services.
In-Depth understanding of designated functional engineering area of expertise (for specific job requirements – controls, process, packaging, building/infrastructure, etc.)
Ability to collaborate in a cross functional environment with many partners.
Strong communication, listening, and influencing skills
Strong critical thinking skills
Ability to come up with innovative ideas
Ability to travel 20 – 60% of the time depending on project demands.

Preferred Qualifications:
Bachelor’s or advanced degree in Mechanical, Electrical, or Chemical Engineering or MBA
10+ years’ of experience in a comparable technical engineering position – food, beverage, pharmaceutical, or related industry preferable.
Experience in a CPG or FDA regulated environment.
Engineering project management from idea creation to project closure.
