Facebook is seeking a highly quantitative, driven, process/detail-oriented and creative analytical lead within our Business Planning & Operations team. This position will manage a team of analysts that provide insights and analytics to Facebook’s Business Product Marketing (BPM) organization. BPM acts as an intermediary between product and sales, helping to bubble up market feedback and inform product design while also supporting the go-to-market of new products. The analyst group this role would manage provides critical support to BPM by helping deliver analysis, tools, and scalable reporting that enables the effective prioritization and decision making on Facebook’s business product strategy. In so doing, the role will work cross-functionally with several organizations at Facebook (including Product Marketing, Product Analytics, Finance, and Sales), with the primary objective of enabling leadership to make effective, analytically driven, and strategic operating decisions. The ideal candidate will be passionate about Facebook’s mission, have a background in a quantitative or technical field, have experience problem-solving using large data sets, and can communicate strategic recommendations effectively with leadership. This position is located in our Menlo Park office.
Drive the strategy and the roadmap for analytics, reporting, and internal tools for the Business Product Marketing Organization
Develop a keen understanding Facebook’s Business Product Strategy and use that to help inform data and analytics priorities
Work cross-functionally with BPM, Product, Finance, Data Science, and BP&O leadership to create best-in-class product analytics to support effective decision making across the business. Evaluates new and alternate approaches, models and tools, working closely with these cross-functional colleagues
Lead a high performing analyst team that implements that roadmap, develop their skills, mentor, and help to prioritize their work
Establish & refine rhythm of business analyses & reporting cadence for Product Marketing leadership
Perform root cause analyses to identify business strengths, weaknesses, opportunities and trend and present analysis and recommendations to executive audiences
Apply expertise in quantitative analysis and data visualization to tell the story behind the numbers and provide recommendations to leadership
Use data to inform, influence and support market sizing, product roadmap & product launch decisions
Improve and refine KPIs to drive relevancy in performance measures
Assist Business Planning & Operations and Product Marketing teams with annual planning, resourcing, and other operational asks, including assistance with process design
12+ years of experience in analytics & insights
2+ years of experience in leading and building analytics and insights teams. Experience identifying, recruiting, and retaining talent in this arena
3+ years of experience in analyzing large data sets with SQL or other programming languages. Knowledge in visualizing insights with Tableau or other visualization tools. Experience managing, coaching and developing a team in these areas
Demonstrated problem solving experience with experience providing business insights and recommendations from data sets
Interpersonal experience and experience building collaborative relationships with the development and execution of strategies/initiatives
Knowledge operating in a matrixed arena
MS/MBA in a technical field (Engineering, Computer Science, Mathematics, Finance)
Experience working with or in support of diverse communities
